SB x GRSS Chapter Exco Meeting

The IEEE Student Branch of the University of Sri Jayewardenepura (IEEE SB USJ) conducted a leadership orientation and year planning meeting with the newly appointed Executive Committee members of the IEEE Geoscience and Remote Sensing Society (GRSS) Chapter. The session was organized to familiarize the newly appointed Chapter Executive Committee members with their respective roles and responsibilities and to support a smooth transition into their new positions. Members of the IEEE SB USJ Executive Committee shared their experiences and clarified the responsibilities associated with the positions of Chairperson, Vice Chairperson, Secretary, Assistant Secretary, Treasurer, and Webmaster. The session also focused on effective coordination, communication, documentation, financial management, event management, digital presence, and other operational aspects relevant to each position. During the meeting, the newly appointed GRSS Chapter Executive Committee was also encouraged by the IEEE SB USJ Chairperson, Dheeshana, to begin developing their annual year plan. Guidance was provided on identifying suitable activities, setting objectives, scheduling events, assigning responsibilities, and aligning the chapter's activities with IEEE and GRSS objectives. The meeting provided an opportunity for knowledge sharing between the Student Branch Executive Committee and the newly appointed GRSS Chapter leadership, helping establish a strong foundation for effective collaboration and successful chapter activities throughout the year.
