Event: J'PuraXtreme 3.0 – Awareness Session Topic: Introduction to HackerRank and how to prepare for J'PuraXtreme 3.0 competition Speaker: Mr. Saranga Samarakoon (Head of J'PuraXtreme Program Quiz team) Overview J'PuraXtreme is an island-wide programming competition organized by the Computer Society Chapter of the IEEE Student Branch of the University of Sri Jayewardenepura. Now in its third consecutive year, J'PuraXtreme 3.0 is a premier programming competition dedicated to cultivating the next generation of competitive programmers and technology innovators. This edition expands beyond universities and welcomes school students from across Sri Lanka, creating a larger and more inclusive platform for aspiring coders. J'PuraXtreme 3.0 serves as a foundation for students to strengthen their competitive programming skills while preparing for future international competitions such as IEEEXtreme. Session Highlights The session introduced participants to a dedicated platform specially designed for J'PuraXtreme 3.0 participants, with practical examples to make the session more engaging and effective. Topics covered included: Introduction to HackerRank Navigating the Competition Platform Submission Process Understanding the Scoreboard Competition Rules How to Prepare for J'PuraXtreme 3.0 Best Practices for Competitive Programming The speaker used practical examples to demonstrate the competition platform and provide participants with a clearer understanding of how to approach the J'PuraXtreme 3.0 competition. Participant Engagement Participants (100+) actively engaged throughout the session. After the session, we conducted a Q&A; session where the participants actively engaged and contributed. The main session lasted for about an hour, followed by another hour dedicated to a productive and engaging Q&A; session. The participants raised valuable questions and actively interacted throughout the discussion. Conclusion J’PuraXtreme 3.0 Awareness Session was successfully concluded with highly positive feedback from the participants. We believe the session provided them with valuable knowledge and a better understanding of J’PuraXtreme 3.0.
