Violet Glow’26 was successfully organized by the IEEE Women in Engineering (WIE) Student Branch Affinity Group of SLTC on 24th July 2026 to commemorate the 7th Anniversary of the affinity group. The event was held at the RB FF5 Hall, SLTC Premises, Padukka and served as a meaningful celebration of seven years of inspiring, empowering, and connecting students through the values and mission of IEEE Women in Engineering. The program brought together WIE members, distinguished guests, and invited participants to celebrate the achievements of the affinity group while strengthening the sense of community among its members. The event commenced with the traditional Lighting of the Oil Lamp, symbolizing wisdom, unity, and the beginning of a memorable celebration. This was followed by the Welcome Speech delivered by the Project Chairperson, who warmly welcomed all guests, members, and participants. During the address, the Chairperson reflected on the remarkable journey of the affinity group over the past seven years, highlighting its growth, accomplishments, and continuous commitment to empowering women in engineering and technology. The speech also expressed appreciation to everyone who contributed to the success and sustainability of the affinity group while encouraging members to remain dedicated to its vision. The 7th Anniversary Celebration formed the highlight of the event. Members gathered to commemorate this significant milestone through a joyful cake-cutting ceremony, symbolizing the unity and achievements of the IEEE WIE Student Branch Affinity Group of SLTC. The celebration created an atmosphere of friendship and appreciation, allowing participants to reflect on the organization's journey and the meaningful impact it has made within the university community. As part of the celebration, a group photograph was taken with all members and invited guests, capturing the memorable occasion and preserving the milestone for future remembrance. The group photo served as a lasting reminder of the unity, collaboration, and shared commitment of everyone who has contributed to the success of the affinity group. Following the anniversary celebration, participants had the opportunity to interact with fellow members and guests in a warm and engaging environment. The event encouraged networking, strengthened existing friendships, and fostered new connections among members while celebrating the shared values of leadership, collaboration, and inclusivity promoted by the IEEE WIE. The program concluded with the Vote of Thanks, delivered by the Project Secretary, who expressed sincere gratitude to the academic advisors, invited guests, organizing committee, members of IEEE WIE Affinity Group of SLTC, and everyone who contributed their time, effort, and support toward the successful execution of Violet Glow’26. Special appreciation was extended to all participants whose presence made the celebration meaningful and memorable. The event officially concluded with the Closing Ceremony, marking the successful completion of Violet Glow’26. Overall, the celebration not only commemorated the seventh anniversary of the IEEE Women in Engineering Student Branch Affinity Group of SLTC but also reinforced its mission of empowering future engineers, fostering collaboration, and building a stronger and more connected WIE community. The event successfully achieved its objectives while creating lasting memories for everyone who participated.
