The monthly meeting of the IEEE WIE Student Branch Affinity Group of SLTC for August was successfully conducted with the active participation of the newly appointed Executive Committee (Ex-Com) and Sub-Committee (Sub-Com) members. The meeting focused on introducing the new Sub-Com members to the Affinity Group’s ongoing projects, responsibilities, and effective project management practices. The meeting commenced with a warm welcome from the Chairperson, who provided an overview of the activities and initiatives planned for the upcoming term. As part of the session, the major projects, WiSTEM and InspiHER V5.0, were introduced to the newly appointed Sub-Com members. The objectives, concepts, expected outcomes, and overall direction of each project were discussed to help members gain a clear understanding of their involvement and responsibilities. The Chairperson also guided the members on their respective roles and responsibilities within the Sub-Committee, emphasizing the importance of teamwork, communication, commitment, and active participation. Members were further introduced to key aspects of project planning, including identifying project objectives, defining the project scope, developing activities and timelines, allocating responsibilities, and coordinating tasks effectively. The session also provided practical guidance on how to develop a clear and achievable project scope, plan project activities, identify necessary resources, and work collaboratively towards successful project implementation. Members were encouraged to contribute their ideas and take initiative in their assigned areas while maintaining effective coordination with the project teams and Ex-Com. The meeting concluded with an encouraging message from the Chairperson, motivating the newly appointed Sub-Com members to actively contribute to WiSTEM and InspiHER V5.0 and to make the upcoming term a successful and impactful one for the IEEE WIE Student Branch Affinity Group of SLTC.
