J'PuraXtreme 3.0 - Online Qualification Round (School category)

Overview J'PuraXtreme is an island-wide programming competition organized by the IEEE Computer Society Student Branch of the University of Sri Jayewardenepura. Now in its third consecutive year, J'PuraXtreme 3.0 aims to develop competitive programming skills and technological innovation among students. This year, the competition expanded to include school students across Sri Lanka, providing them with a platform to prepare for future competitions such as IEEEXtreme. Qualification Round Highlights A 6-hour online Qualification Round was conducted for the School Category using HackerRank. Challenges were progressively released, with updates and instructions shared through the WhatsApp Delegates Group. The competition covered: Problem Solving and Logical Reasoning Algorithms and Sorting Mathematics and Combinatorics Arrays and Grid Mapping Questions were categorized into Easy, Medium, and Hard difficulty levels, testing participants' programming, logical thinking, and problem-solving abilities. Participant Engagement A total of 16 teams registered, with 9 teams actively participating in the Qualification Round. Registrations were affected by ongoing G.C.E. Advanced Level and school term examinations. Despite this, all participating teams remained actively engaged throughout the six-hour competition, demonstrating strong enthusiasm and competitive spirit. Conclusion The J'PuraXtreme 3.0 School Category Online Qualification Round was successfully conducted, achieving strong engagement despite examination-related challenges. Based on their performance, approximately five top-performing teams will be selected to compete in the Final Round.
