Step Into ComSoc

Description

Step Into ComSoc , a session on discovering the IEEE Communications Society and its opportunities, was organized by the IEEE Communications Society Student Branch Chapter, University of Peradeniya. It was held online on September 28, 2026, from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM, with around 30 participants in attendance. The session was started and handed over to Mr. Yohan Joseph, Student Ambassador for ComSoc and Chair of the IEEE Sri Lanka Section Student Activities Committee (SLSAC). Mr. Joseph introduced the IEEE Communications Society and its global community, and explained the opportunities available to student members, including resources, competitions, scholarships, networking, and chapter activities. A Q&A session followed, in which participants had the chance to clarify their questions. The session concluded with a vote of thanks by Mr. Shanan Adams, Chair of the IEEE Communications Society Student Branch Chapter, University of Peradeniya, who thanked the speaker for making the session a great success.
