ArtistryX 1.0 – AI Digital Art Competition

Description

ArtistryX 1.0 was an AI-powered digital art competition organized by the IEEE Women in Engineering (WIE) Student Branch Affinity Group of Sabaragamuwa University of Sri Lanka . The competition provided a creative platform for participants to explore the intersection of artificial intelligence, imagination, and digital creativity . The competition was conducted under the theme “Sri Lanka 2050: Tradition Meets the Future.” Participants were encouraged to envision the future of Sri Lanka by creatively combining the country’s rich culture, traditions, and heritage with futuristic concepts and emerging technologies. Using AI-assisted creative tools, participants transformed their ideas into original digital artworks. In addition to showcasing participants’ creativity, ArtistryX 1.0 featured a People’s Choice Award , allowing the wider community to engage with and support the submitted artworks. The artworks were published on the IEEE WIE SUSL Facebook and Instagram pages, where followers could vote by reacting to their preferred creations. Valid reactions received across both platforms were combined, and the artwork receiving the highest total number of valid reactions was selected for the People’s Choice Award. Through ArtistryX 1.0, participants had the opportunity to experiment with AI as a creative medium, demonstrate their artistic vision, and imagine how Sri Lankan identity and heritage could evolve alongside future technology. The event also encouraged community engagement and celebrated the growing connection between technology, culture, and creative expression .
