PhysicAI 1.0 Workshop 04 - Human System Interface with LLMs

July 30, 2026 · 1:30 PM - 3:30 PM @ Online event

Description

The workshop titled “PhysicAI 1.0 – Human-System Interface with LLMs” , organized by the IEEE Power and Energy Society (PES) Student Branch Chapter of the University of Moratuwa in collaboration with the IEEE Robotics and Automation Society Student Branch Chapter of the University of Moratuwa , focused on the role of Large Language Models (LLMs) in enabling natural and intelligent interaction between humans and technological systems . The session was conducted by Prof. Uthayasankar , Senior Lecturer, Department of Computer Science and Engineering, University of Moratuwa. The workshop introduced the fundamentals of Large Language Models and human-system interaction , highlighting how LLMs can understand natural-language inputs and support more intuitive communication between users and intelligent systems. The discussion explored the use of LLMs as an interface for interacting with AI-powered systems, software, and physical systems , with emphasis on natural-language communication, information interpretation, task assistance, and intelligent decision support. The workshop also highlighted the opportunities and challenges associated with integrating LLMs into human-system interfaces, including the importance of reliable communication, appropriate system responses, user interaction, and responsible use of AI technologies. Overall, the session provided participants with an understanding of how LLMs are shaping the way humans interact with intelligent systems , and how natural-language interfaces can contribute to more accessible, intuitive, and intelligent technological solutions.
