The IEEE Uva Wellassa University Student Branch is proud to organize IEEE Day 2026 on 16th October 2026, celebrating the global IEEE community and its commitment to advancing technology, innovation, professional development, and collaboration. The event aims to strengthen the connection between IEEE and the undergraduate community while encouraging students to actively engage with the opportunities and experiences offered through IEEE. The celebration will feature an insightful online session with Mr. Kavinga Upul Ekanayake , Vice Chair (Chair-Elect) / Professional Activities Lead, as the guest speaker. The session will provide participants with valuable insights into the IEEE community, the importance of active membership, and the diverse opportunities available for undergraduates to develop their technical, professional, leadership, and interpersonal skills. Participants will also have the opportunity to learn from his experiences as an IEEE volunteer and gain a broader understanding of how active involvement in IEEE can contribute to their university and professional journey. To complement the session, an interactive IEEE-themed quiz will be conducted to encourage active participation and engagement. The quiz will provide an enjoyable platform for participants to enhance their knowledge of IEEE while promoting interaction and a stronger sense of community among undergraduate students and Executive Committee members. The event will also serve as a platform to increase awareness of IEEE among undergraduates, encourage greater participation in IEEE activities, and introduce students to the diverse opportunities available within the IEEE community. By bringing together undergraduate students and Executive Committee members, the celebration aims to foster meaningful connections, facilitate knowledge sharing, and strengthen the sense of belonging within the Student Branch. As a token of appreciation, e-certificates will be awarded to active participants who engage in the event and its activities. Overall, IEEE Day 2026 at Uva Wellassa University aims to celebrate the values and global impact of IEEE while inspiring undergraduates to become more actively involved in the IEEE community. Through knowledge sharing, interactive engagement, and meaningful participation, the event seeks to encourage students to explore new opportunities, develop professionally, and contribute positively to the IEEE community and beyond.
