IEEE Open Week 2026, organized by the IEEE Student Branch of the University of Moratuwa in collaboration with its chapters and affinity group, commenced the term with great enthusiasm and success. The event aimed to introduce undergraduates, particularly newly enrolled students, to IEEE, the IEEE Student Branch, and its vibrant community , while encouraging them to explore the opportunities available through IEEE membership. The IEEE Nuclear and Plasma Sciences Society (NPSS) Student Branch Chapter of the University of Moratuwa actively participated in the event by hosting an interactive stall with the support of the Sri Lanka Atomic Energy Board . The stall showcased activities and demonstrations related to nuclear and plasma sciences, providing students with an engaging opportunity to explore these fascinating fields. Through interactive activities and informative demonstrations, the chapter introduced its technical interests, initiatives, and future opportunities to the undergraduate community. The stall also facilitated new membership registrations, encouraging students to become part of the IEEE NPSS community and engage in its academic, technical, and professional development activities. The event served as a valuable platform for the chapter to raise awareness of nuclear and plasma sciences, connect with prospective members, and inspire greater student participation in its future initiatives.
