The IEEE Nuclear and Plasma Sciences Society (NPSS) Student Branch Chapter at the University of Moratuwa successfully conducted an insightful webinar titled “Resilient Nuclear Renewable Hybrid Energy Systems” as part of the Fusion Frontiers webinar series. Held on 28th June 2026 at 6.30 PM via Zoom, the session was delivered by Dr. Hossam A. Gabbar, a professor at Ontario Tech University, Canada. The webinar focused on the integration of nuclear and renewable energy sources and highlighted how resilient hybrid energy systems can ensure sustainable, reliable, and low-carbon power generation. Dr. Gabbar provided valuable insights into advanced system modelling, control strategies, and real-world applications of hybrid energy systems in addressing future energy challenges.
