IEEE WIE STAR 2026 – AI Sparks: Imagine, Create, Innovate is a one-day educational outreach program organized by the IEEE Women in Engineering (WIE) Student Branch Affinity Group of Sabaragamuwa University of Sri Lanka under the STAR (Student-Teacher and Research Engineer/Scientist) initiative. The program aims to inspire school students to explore the exciting world of Artificial Intelligence (AI), Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) through interactive learning experiences and hands-on activities. Designed for students of Karagasthalawa School, the workshop introduces practical AI tools such as Google NotebookLM, Gemini, Flow AI, and Veo 3, enabling participants to explore AI-assisted learning, creative content generation, and innovative problem-solving. A key highlight of the program is the "AI for Good Challenge," where students collaborate in teams to develop creative AI-based solutions for real-world challenges within their schools and communities. The program also emphasizes responsible AI usage, digital safety, creativity, teamwork, and the importance of women in STEM. Through this initiative, IEEE WIE aims to empower young minds, encourage technological curiosity, and inspire the next generation of innovators and future STEM professionals.
