Description

Th e IEEE Communications Society Student Branch Ch apter of the IEEE Student Branch University of Ruhuna successfully organized an online workshop titled “From Prot otype to Real Product” on 26th June 2026 from 7.00 p.m. onwards, as the final session of the Phase 2 Technical Workshop Series of IoTrix 2.0. The workshop was organized with the aim of showing participants how an initial IoT prototype can be transformed into a practical and scalable product. The workshop covered product development workflows, system design considerations, prototyping, testing and validation, scalability, user requirements, product-market considerations, and presenting an IoT solution as a viable product. The workshop was conducted by Mr . G.S. Umair Ahmadh, Visiting Lecturer at the Faculty of Engineering, SEUSL, and former Senior Applications Engineer at Synopsys Inc., who shared valuable insights on taking IoT ideas beyond the prototype stage and developing them into product-oriented solutions. The session was designed mainly for university undergraduates, private institute students, diploma holders, technical school leavers, and independent innovators interested in building real-world IoT solutions. The event was successfully conducted via Zoom with the participation of over 60 participants, completing a progressive learning path from understanding IoT, to building and connecting IoT systems, to developing a product-oriented solution.
