As part of Phase 02 of IndustPro 5.0, participants visited Sysco LABS, the technology and innovation arm of Sysco, the global leader in foodservice distribution. Building on the IndustPro 5.0 Workshop 1 conducted in collaboration with Sysco LABS, this visit gave students the opportunity to experience the company’s engineering environment first-hand. Participants were introduced to how Sysco LABS builds and supports large-scale technology solutions for global business operations, including its approach to product engineering, agile teams and the use of AI and cloud technologies. Industry professionals shared practical insights into modern software engineering practices, team collaboration and the expectations placed on interns and graduates. The visit concluded with discussions on internship opportunities and career growth, followed by a networking session where participants engaged with engineers, asked questions and gained a clearer understanding of how their academic knowledge applies in a professional setting.
