[Legacy Report] Workshop on “Integration of Wind Power Generations and HVDC Technologies for interconnections†– Knowledge with hands on experience in simulations
July 4, 2012 · 3:30 AM - 12:30 PM @ Kandy
Description
Wind power development in Sri Lanka has rapidly increased from 3 MW to 33 MW during the recent past. It has been planned to develop further in the near future. Research and Development in wind power generation and integration technologies have brought up four technologies on wind power generators. This has solved many challenges faced by the wind power generating plants in the past. Further the HVDC technologies are used to integrate two power systems. This has been proven as an excellent technology to integrate two systems without any coupling with their frequencies and other disturbances. This new development has solved many difficulties experienced in the past on wind power plant operations and grid integration of two systems. This workshop is organized timely to enhance the knowledge of professionals, who are (i) Decision makers, (ii) Consultants, (iii) Policy developers, (iv) Project developers, (v) Managers, (vi) Engineers, (vii) Researchers, on wind power plants and HVDC interconnection. This is designed not only to enhance knowledge but also to provide some hands on experience in simulation to understand the overall operations within the allocated.
