[Legacy Report] Workshop on Energy Conservation and Clean energy
June 8, 2013 · 3:30 AM - 10:30 AM @ Moratuwa
Description
Most of the University students will become manages of government, commercial and industrial sectors at some point in their career. As our energy needs are escalating and still we are burning fossil fuels to fulfil our energy needs, it is high time to inculcate the habits of energy conservation among our university students. As Professor Ozzie Zehner, the author of “Green Energy: The dirty secrets of clean energy and the future environment,†says “any number of conservation strategies offer far higher dividends than renewable energy investments.†While recognising the government pledge to add 15% of Non-Conventional Renewable Energy by 2020, as two leading professional bodies in the country, it is the duty of the IEEE Sri Lankan section and Sri Lanka Energy Managers’ Association (SLEMA) to train our university students as trainers to conserve energy.
